What could be more appropriate during the Cycling World Championships than performing our very own bicycle symphony? During the UCI Road World Championships in September we’ll be repeating our successful performance from this year’s Bergen International Festival.
This symphony was composed in collaboration with 50 students from Ådnamarka Primary School, through our programme called Let’s Compose!, and will be performed again in a setting which could not be more natural – a city brimming with bike enthusiasts from all over the world. The piece came to light as a result of exploration of all the weird and wonderful sounds that emanate from a bicycle. With newly-invented instruments made up of bicycle parts, used alongside cyclists specially trained for the occasion, the final work will be presented on the outdoor stage in Bergen’s main square, Torgallmenningen. We’re going for gold!
